"Paw-sitive" Training for Your Dog

Dog Training Programs

My “paw-sitive” training approach focuses on building a strong relationship between you and your dog. Rather than relying on punishment, I focus on understanding how dogs learn and using rewards such as treats, praise, and encouragement to reinforce the behaviors we want to see.

For example, when teaching a puppy to sit, I reward the puppy the moment they naturally sit. Over time, the dog learns that sitting brings good things, and the behavior becomes reliable. Training becomes something both the dog and the owner enjoy.

This approach works well for all dogs, from energetic puppies to rescue dogs with more complicated backgrounds. Every dog has the ability to learn with patience, consistency, and the right guidance. Rescue dogs especially may have past experiences that make certain situations confusing or stressful. Positive reinforcement helps build confidence and helps these dogs learn to trust again.

In my Puppy Manners and K-9 Manners classes, I teach the core techniques of positive training while helping owners work through the real challenges they are experiencing with their dogs. Each class includes practical guidance you can continue using at home so the training lasts beyond the classroom.

My goal is simple. I want to help you understand your dog and give you the tools to build a well behaved, happy companion.
